What will you learn in this tutorial?

Instead of memorizing art only with term names, we will read together the relationship with the social environment, material and viewer where the work is produced. We will make visual comparisons on a timeline that extends from paleolytic examples to contemporary art.

Two-hour program

First 30 minutes: how to read artwork, format and content are divided? Second part: Three different world opinion through Ancient Age, Middle Age and Renaissance. After a short break, the artist, his audience and corporate relationship that changes in modern period. We will review and discuss your questions together in the last chapter.

Preparation and learning outcomes

No pre-information required. Prepare your notebook and an example of a piece you’re wondering. At the end of training you can examine a work with date, technical, subject and context headers.
