Biography

Hilal Bayrak is an accomplished artist and academic who completed a master’s degree in painting at Düzce University. Ecological issues, the relationship between people and nature, and environmental destruction are central to her practice. Her work builds connections between destruction in the outside world and damage to the human inner world and body. Through an anatomical and expressionist visual language, she brings to the canvas the subtle parallels between the exploitation of nature and the deformation of the human body under imposed beauty standards.
